How I got into the "Zine World"
June 16th, 2000

4:22pm

I don’t know how I ever got into the “zine world.” I guess it started when this girl (in a chatroom) asked if if I wanted to subscribe to her BSB “newsletter”, yeah, that’s what they were called back then. I can’t even imagine how long ago that was, the zine world sure has changed since then. I mean, back then, there was no “zine world” really.

Anyway, it took me awhile but I saw all these new kinds – not BSB zines – and I guess I was like “If they can do it , I sure can!” So I made “A Girlz World,” there might have been 1 or 2 before that one. A Girlz World didn’t turn out too good, I just couldn’t handle the responsibility of making & sending the zine out every week filled w/ stuff I really didn’t give a crap about. So then I decided to start a zine which reflect my interests: Destiny’s Waterfalls. IT took me forever to think of the name, but I knew it was going to be about beauty and fashion. It ended the same way Girlz World did.

I’ve come a long way since then, and so has the Zine World. IT has become more and more a part of people’s lives and I’ve seen that they have become dedicated to their zines. Why aren’t I? I ask myself. I’m gonna change that about myself cuz zines are the 1 thing that keep me out of boredom. But I’m still bored. It’s cuz I don’t put enough time and effort into them, like a lot of people do and make great zines. Well, I’m gonna change that about myself. Starting now.
