What's with them today? Well there is something going on that we like to call the "Boyband Phenomnon." In every issue of our newsletter Iwill include info, pix and more of one of the very special boybands.  To start out with I pick Backstreet Boys because first of all they are my most favorite boyband and they are the ones who seem like they started this "Boyband Phenomnon", or maybe it was the New Kids onthe Block? Who knows with this crazy world. But one thing for sure is that the Backstreet Boys certianitally opened some doors for the new boybands.

only mad chicks ride in my whips
south to the west to the east to the north
bought my hits and watch 'em go off a go off
ah yes yes y'all ya don't stop
in the winter or the (summertime)
I makes it hot
gettin jiggy wit 'em

eight-fifty I.S. if you need a lift

Close to the door
  he paused to stand
as he took his class ring
  off her hand
   all who were watching
did not speak as a silent tear
     ran down his cheek
   and through his mind
       the memories ran
  of the moments they walked
and laughed in the sand
but now her eyes were so terribly cold
    for he would never again
      have her to hold
    they watched in silence
   as he bent near
and whispered the words......
"I LOVE YOU" in her ear
he touched her face and started to cry
as he put on his ring and wanted to die
and just then the wind began to blow
   as they lowered her casket
   into the snow....
This is what happens
  to man alive......

The Girl Who Said Nothing

Silently she walked through the halls of the crowded school.  She knew no one;
she talked with no one.  She went from class to class, day to day, week to week, without speaking a word to anyone.  The girls said she was a snob, who thought she was better than everyone else.  The boys were intimidated by her beauty and were to cowardly to talk to her.  Still she walked from class to class, and never said a word.

When she would get home, she would do her homework.  Her mother was not
home.  She wouldn’t be home until late, since she worked two very hard part-time jobs.  Her father had died when she was a baby, and she was an only child.  She made herself dinner, and sat down to read her bible.  Then she silently prayed.  And another day went
by without a word.
The students saw her do nothing but write in her journal and read her bible during lunch.  They all called her strange, at least all the girls did.  The boys, however, were intrigued by her silence and peculiarity.  They would watch her during class, and she never knew.  She just went from class to class, day to day, and week to week.  One boy was so intrigued, that he was the first to ask her what she was reading.  Without a word she pointed to the top, right hand corner of the page, which read “John, Chapter 3.”  He smiled, said, “Oh, well thanks,” and walked
away.  That night he asked his parents where their bible was, and they said that they didn’t have one.  The next day, the boy went to the nearest church and asked the pastor where he could get one.  Out of the goodness of his heart, the pastor gave him one of the church’s bibles.  He went to school with it in his backpack, and at lunch, he began reading “John, Chapter 1.”
The girl sat writing in her journal at lunch, when a cheerleader, on a dare, went
over to her and asked to read what she was writing.  Without a word the girl handed her journal to the cheerleader, who turned to the first page and began reading.  Before she got finished reading the first page, the cheerleader dropped the journal to the floor, ran from the table sobbing.  The girl was shocked, but didn’t say a word.  She just picked up her journal, put it in her bag, and went from class to class, day to day, week to week.  The cheerleader went home that day, still crying, and asked her mother if they could go to church the next Sunday.  The mother said that she would drop her off there, but wouldn’tgo with her.  She did go to church the next Sunday, and every Sunday after that.

Word got around about the “weird” girl in the school.  People would watch her to
see what she did, but she didn’t do anything but go to class, read her bible and write in her journal at lunch, then go home.  Nobody ever heard her say a word.  The teachers almost ignored her almost perfect grades, and never asked her any questions in class.  They were almost afraid of her.  One day, the girl’s English teacher was grading her essay.  The girl was the only one who received an A+ on her essay, which was stained with teardrops when the girl got it back.  The teacher went home that day, and for the first time in a long time, talked to her husband. They were rumors going around that they were going to get a divorce, but they suddenly
On the girl’s eighteenth birthday, she got home to find a message on her answering machine that her mother had been killed in a car accident.  Her mother’s life insurance was enough to pay for the house and car, which was more than she had expected.  After hearing this message,  she ran to her room and cried out her heart.  She cried herself to sleep, but she didn’t say a word.  She had nobody else in the world.  Both her parents were only children, and her grandparents were dead.  Yet she was eighteen, and legally an adult.  The major bills were paid off, but she needed to get a job
Weeks later, she went to school, with tears still running down her face.  Everyone
noticed, and everyone cared, yet no one said a word.  At lunch she read her bible, and wrote in her journal.  Nobody spoke to her, as her tears fell to the table.  She went to work that day, and worked in the unbearably hot kitchen of a local restaurant.  Tears ran down her face, and nobody said a word.  But this day was different.  She was the last one in the restaurant.  She locked the small glass door, and began walking to her car.  Out of nowhere, she heard a voice.  It told her to stop where she was, and she stopped.  It told her to lay down, face first on the pavement, and she did.  It told her to give him her keys, and she did.  Then she heard a click, followed by a loud boom.  The pain was so quick she didn’t feel it, and she didn’t say a word.
When she didn’t return to school that day, everybody wondered.  Finally, the boy,
who had been reading “John,” couldn’t take it anymore.  He stood up in the middle of English class and said, “Where is she?”  Nobody asked, “Who?” because they all knew who She was.  The teacher, who was the girls English teacher, looked up.
cheerleader, who was in the same class, stood up and asked, “Where is she?”  One by one every student in every class stood up and asked the same question.  It was such a numerous request, that an announcement was made.  Every student cried, and every teacher cried, as the principal made the announcement that the girl had been shot in the back of her head, by a man who wanted to steal her car.  The students cried until they fell asleep in their beds that night.
The next morning, there was another announcement.  The girl’s journal had been
given to the school by the police, and any student who wanted a copy could have a copy.  Over 2,000 copies of her journal were made and given to the students.  The school board gave all the students a day off, and they all went home.  Each one had finished the journal by the next day.
At the end of the school year, the graduating class made a tribute to her for the
school.  It was a plaque, that said, “This is for the girl who said nothing.  She was the greatest one of all, for it was her heart that did the talking, and nobody knew what she had to say.  Nobody could tell her they loved her during her life time, and now it’s too late.”

Why do we say nothing,
when there is so much to be said?
People in this world are looking for love,
We just have to open our hearts.

Skin Buzz
Skin Care Questions for the Week
I have a skin probem. Its not exactly that I have acne: I have pimples in some areas and they are red. Just because a couple of pimples are red and inflamed, it makes it look like I have a lot of acne when I really dont. I guess I need something to get rid of my pimples and get redness down. Also, My skin reacts to some products badly, so it needs to be gentle. thanks

Ok: your skin might be a little confused so you need to choose your products carefully: this is what I think might straighten your skin up. Wash your face twice a day    with Basis Comfortably Clean face wash. This is very gentle, but it gets rid of debris. At night, try this ( I read about this recipe on the interenet) : Take one tablespoon of Aloe ( either the gel straight from the plant or bought at the store); one teaspoon of Tea Tree oil ( I get mine at the Body Shop) and mix it in with some Neutrogena Multi Vitamin Acne treatment. The Aloe will soothe your skin..the tea tree oil acts as an antipseltic, and the acne treatment kills zits and helps tone down redness.

  Celeb Look:Sarah Michelle Gellar

Today's celeb for Celeb look is Sarah Michelle Gellar. She is most known for her role as the Buffy the vampire slayer, queen of the one liners. She was acting way before her role on Buffy though . As a child, she acted in many commercials and  played Jacqueline Onassis in a tv movie. She scored a role as Susan Lucci's daughter on the soap opera All My Children in which she brought home a daytime Emmy for.  She landed the role of Buffy, which was her big break and her show is one of the best rated on th Wb. Not to mention her status as blockbuster queen with roles such as scream queens in I Know What You DId Last Summer and Scream2. She played villain / vixen in Cruel Intentions, and should continue to snag major movie roles.

Sarah's product  preferences:
  Philosophy Kiss Me lip balm
Smashbox nail polish in Fog
Hard Candy nail poilish in Peachy
Clarins Oil Control concealing blemish cream
Francois Nars lip glosses
Artec Color moisturizer Color Fade Prevention conditioner in Lemon

Sarah michelle gellar quote:
At 14, I thought I was ugly and fat. I worried that my breasts werent as big as the other girls' and that  my thighs werent as nice. It was hard to understand at that age because I was changing so much. You have to learn to like yourself. Eventually I got over it and I started to like who I was

This Week's MakeOver
   Dear  Fairy Godmother,
hi. I would like a makeover please. here is what I look like: medium borwn hair, a little frizzy. pale skin. lightish blue eyes, which is the only feature I actually like. my skin is clear, a little oily though. I just want a new look because I look very plain. thanks]
                                 luv, Michelle

Dear Michelle,
hi, you sound pretty :) if you would like a new look though, here is what you might want to try:

hair: since you mentioned your hair is on the frizzy side, you may wanna try a leave in conditioner to act as a conditioner and styling product. This will keep the hair smooth and boost shine: try Sebastians Potion # 9

skin: you are lucky that you're skin is clear, but you mentioned you had oily skin. You may want to try an oil absorbing lotion like Origins Zero Oil. To get excess oil throughout the day, invest in some oil blotting papers. Try the blotting paper by the Bath and Body Works, it does the trick. To  sap up shine on bad skin days, try a clay mask like Freeman Clay and avocado face

Make-Up  its sounds like your eyes are beautiful. Sheerly brush on a whitish eyeshadow to make your eyes pop out. try Jane Eye Zing in Hip Bone. Finish off with a brownish mascara ,  try MAybeline Great Lash in brownish black
since you're skin is clear, you probably wont need to use a foundation. But since its a tad on the oily side, you may wanna try a loose powder. Try CLinique Blended face Powder in Transparency 1. If you wanna add a sunkissed glow to your pale skin, try a bronzing powder by Physicians Formula.

lastly: we all get in a rut sometimes. Here are a few beauty treatment thingies you can do to make yourself feel a little bit better:

Garen Botanica Salt Glow-  this makes your skin feel mega soft

Ponds Cucumber eye treatments : These reresh tired eyes and the scents of cucumber are sorta relaxing

Body Shop Satuma Shower Gel: if you havent smelled the Satsuma scent, its a major mood booster. Its a type of citrus fruit and it really peps you up and smells yummy

Make some homeade face  masks. You dont even have to get tons of ingredients together, just go simple. Smash some avacados onto your face , they contain natural moisturizers and they are anti-oxidants. You can also make simple face fasks from Carrot peel ( vitamin A , a major skin dr) and Banana just to name a few.
Tress Tips
1. Keep two different kinds of shampoos to and alternate them so you hair doesen't get built up, such as a moisturizing one and a clarifying one, so they clash with each other.

2. If u dont like idea number one use Neutrogena's Clean Shampoo which doesn't build up no matter how many times you use it.

3. Don't put conditioner in the roots of you hair.  It weighs them down and makes them oily!  Also- use a light conditioner so your hair isn't flat from it's weight.

4. If you're using more then two styling products, stop!  They will leave your hair over porcessed and yucky!!!  Evaluate which ones help and hurt your hair, then try to tone your usage down to one or two

5. If you're only changing your hair color by one or two shades (i.e.-light to medium brown) it's safe for a hom treatment, but if you're going from brown to blond or something like that, either go to hair stylist or at least have your mom or older sister do it.
PS: OLD MEMBERS- These tips are similar to the ones in a past issue of the nl because our writer for this column didn't turn their's in, so I put this in for the new members.
